Dirt crawl spaces are great places to live, thrive and reproduce if you're a bug. There is an even temperature, moisture and damp wood and shelter. Spiders, beetles, centipedes, termites, and all kinds of other insects are found in dirt crawl spaces. Animals such as mice (dead and alive) are commonly found in dirt crawl spaces. In some cases, even rats, snakes and small animals have been found.
Even in a seemingly dry crawl space, moisture can creep in and do damage to your home. These homeowners noticed insulation was falling down, so they called in CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas. Our Design Specialist, Curtis, suggested our CleanSpace Encapsulation System with SmartSump Sump Pump and the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to keep this crawl space clean, dry, and healthy!
This homeowner in North Little Rock was looking to have the debris removed from his crawl space and a vapor barrier put in. Our crew was able to remove all of the unneeded debris from the crawl space. After cleaning everything out, they prepped the grade to install Drainage Matting. Drainage Matting helps water get to the perimeter of the crawl space and creates a softer floor. A clean and dry crawl space makes for a happy homeowner and a healthier home!

The Drainage Matting is great for crawl space drainage under CleanSpace on concrete or dirt floors, The dimples allow better conductivity for water to get to the perimeter drainage or sump pump located in the lowest spot of the crawlspace. CleanSpace Drainage matting also softens the floor and increases durability.
Customer requested a clean up of their crawlspace. In order to clean up the area, we removed and disposed of the hanging and old insulation. Hanging insulation can make any crawlspace look untidy and in disrepair. We then cleaned any addtional debris in the are and began making the space a clean, healthy, and completely usable space. We added our Drainage Matting, allowing any water to travel underneath the Cleanspace Liner that was laid on top. The drainage matting will help the flow of water, if there is any, as well as adds durability, puncture resistance, and a thermal break.
We installed a Sanidry Sedona to control the humidity in the space. Sealing off and controling the humidity in the space, makes the crawl space healthy, in turning making the home itself healthier as well. This also allows for the space to being a good storage area, if you need additional storage options.
Over time, we have learned that stack effect within the home starts in the crawl space. The air from the crawlspace rises, entering the home, then escaping from the roof. By regulating and keeping the air in the crawl space healthy, it in turn provides healthy air to be filtered into the home itself. A happy, healthy crawl space effects the home in a positive way.
