Conway Wet Crawl Space Repair
Challenge
This homeowner's crawl space was holding a lot of water, causing issues with the subfloor. We needed to remove the water and find a way to keep it from pooling in the crawl space.
Solution
Standing water in a crawl space can create a lot of problems for any homeowner. It is a water source for pests and rodents, it can damage or rot the support structures of your home including the subfloor and creates a breeding ground for mold that can then enter your home. A sump pump, encapsulation, and dehumidifier will eliminate all of these issues.
Our crew started by installing the SmartSump Sump Pump in the lowest point of the crawl space. The Ez Flow Drainage System was installed below the footers. It collects ground water run-off and drains it into the SmartSump. Grading and prepping the crawl space directs water towards the Ez Flow Drainage System and the SmartSump Sump Pump, and the water is then pumped out and away from the home. Vents were sealed with our SilverGlo Insulation Panels, and a custom cut EverLast Door was installed, effectively blocking outside air from entering the crawl space. Our Drainage Matting was installed on the dirt floor providing a thermal break. The dimples allow water to flow beneath it, following the grade of the floor towards the sump pump. The CleanSpace Liner, a 20-mil thick bright white liner, was installed to completely isolate the home from the earth. A SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier completes the encapsulation system, removing up to 100 pints of water per day and draining it into the SmartSump Sump Pump.
The home is drier and more structurally sound; and the subfloor issues were resolved! A free crawl space inspection is a phone call away, 501.329.4000!
