SuperSump with UltraSump Battery Backup
Challenge
A Little Rock homeowner had contacted us with excess water in her crawl space. She was very concerned because she already had a sump pump and wanted to be sure it was working to remove water. Water in your crawl space can lead to mold and rot. Craigen inspected the crawl space and presented her with a solution to remove water and moisture from her crawl space.
Solution
CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas takes pride in presenting a complete solution to crawl space issues. A sump pump is a necessary part of CleanSpace Encapsulation if you have standing water in your crawl space. However, not all sump pumps are created equal. The SuperSump Sump Pump + Ultra Sump is uniquely designed for crawl spaces and the focus of this case study.
The SuperSump Sump Pump is a 1/3 hp Zoeller cast iron pump with a mechanical float switch, capable of pumping 2,650 gallons per hour smoothly and quietly. The pump rests on a CleanPump Stand, lifting the pump out of silt and sediment. The liner allows ground water to flow in and has an exclusive pump ring, keeping the pump centered and preventing the switch from hanging up on the side walls. The Airtight Lid keeps moisture from evaporating into your crawl space and keeping objects from falling into the sump hole. The lid also features a hose opening for the dehumidifier drain line and a 2-piece lid design for easy access to the sump pump. The lid of the sump pump is sturdy enough to stand on, so you are not sacrificing storage space. The SuperSump connects to a discharge line that carries the water out of your crawl space and away from your home.
The "plus" is the optional UltraSump Sump Pump. This pump runs 100% on battery. It will automatically turn on when you need it most; during power outages, primary pump failures, circuit breakers trips, or the pump being unplugged. The pump sensor will alert when the pump turns on, letting you know the primary pump failed to run. The alert and pump will turn off automatically when power has been restored to the primary pump.
The SuperSump has another safety feature, the WaterWatch Alarm. The WaterWatch Alarm sits in the lid of the SuperSump with a probe extending into the liner. If the water level reaches the sensor on the probe, an alarm will sound. This will alert you to a power outage, pump failure, or an excessive amount of water coming into the sump pump. The alarm will stop when the water is no longer touching the sensor on the probe.
Everything in the CleanSpace Encapsulation System works together to provide you with a usable crawl space, free of moisture, dirt, and mold. The SuperSump Sump Pump is designed to evacuate the water from the CleanSpace Encapsulation System, removing water from under your home, making it cleaner, drier, and healthier for you and your family.
