This customer was experiencing a musty smell in their home and they were unsure of where it was coming from. They had seen some of our ads online and thought they’d give us a call to at least see what we could do for them. When John went under the home, he found evidence that mold was starting to grow under the home and that there was water standing in the crawl space. We had some of the best solutions for the problems that this homeowner was facing.
The crew had to start by removing insulation that was sitting in the wet crawl space. This insulation was becoming a prime place for mold and mildew to grow. They then graded the floor of the crawl space so that there were no holes in the ground for water to sit in. When the crew was finally able to get in the crawl space and start installing products, they began by putting down drainage matting, which creates tunnels for the water to flow to the drain. They put CleanSpace on top of it so that there was no chance that any moisture could escape and affect the rest of the crawl space. The crew also had to cover the piers in the crawl space so there was no chance for mold to grow anywhere. The crew also installed a dehumidifier to take care of the moisture problem in the crawl space, so that they would not have any problem like this again. The crew finished by replacing the vents to the crawl space so outside moisture and air cannot affect the crawl space. They also installed new crawl space doors because the old doors were rotting pieces of wood. This was letting outside air in and there was a chance that pests and other unwanted things could get into the crawl space.
