Part of keeping your Crawl Space dry is by installing a Sump Pump System- For Alfred R we installed our Smart Sump is a combination of patented and custom components which make up a highly efficient and reliable water evacuation system for crawl space environments.  The Smart Sump consists of the following components (1) liner (2) Lid (3) Pump (4) Alarm (5) Check Valve (6) Cord Captain (7) Clean Pump Stand. 

I want to mention in more detail one of the components that make the SmartSump unique- (4) Alarm. The WaterWatch floor alarm system, which sounds off when water runs over the top of the lid surface. The WaterWatch floor Alarm runs on a 9v battery and sounds off when the water contacts the 2 zinc coated sensors at the base of the alarm housing.

For Homeowner Alfred, he needs his crawl space to fit as soon as possible. Any time you have water in your crawlspace, we need to act quickly, get the water out, dry everything and get rid of the mold. For this job, we will be using our Smart Sump. Ice Guard and our CleanSpace and Drainage Matting. 

When our production team arrived they started by installing our SmartSump- which is a combination of patented and custom components which make up a highly efficient and reliable water evacuation system for crawl space environments- To install a SmartSump the production team starts off by- creating a hole in the floor, at the lowest possible elevation in the crawlspace approximately 21" in diameter and excavate down 21" from the floor surface.  Setting the liner in the hole with the lid approximately 1/4 below the surface of the crawlspace and backfill with clean stone. Install the pump; check valve and section of 1-1/2" PVC discharge pipe that extends above the floor. With the Cleanspace cut approximately 2" inside the liner base all the way around the diameter place the 2-piece lid around the discharge pipe and pull the electrical cord through the other opening in the top and then with the Cleanspace sandwiched between the base and sump lid, bolt the lid into place. Install airtight grommets and alarm. Mount Cord Captain to the 1 1/2" discharge line using supplied pipe clamp for wire management, hang system service envelope using 8" wire tie supplied and fill out all information on labels. 

After installing the SmartSump the production team would then begin installing the Drainage Matting and the CLeanSpace. The Drainage Matting is great for crawl space drainage under CleanSpace on concrete or dirt floors. The dimples allow better conductivity for water to get to the perimeter drainage or sump pump located in the lowest spot of the crawlspace. CleanSpace Drainage matting also softens the floor and increases durability. CleanSpace liner is a white/blue seven-layer reinforced laminate containing no adhesives. The outer layer consists of high-strength polyurethane film manufactured using virgin grade resins and containing UVI and thermal stabilizers. cleanse is reinforced with two separate plies of a 900 denier polyurethane reinforcement laid in a diagonal pattern spaced 3/8 apart with an additional machine direction polyester every 3' across the width. The individual plies are laminated together with molten polyethylene.

The Last product that was installed was the IceGuard- The IceGuard system allows water to escape from a sump pump discharge line if the pipe freezes or becomes blocked for any reason. When the discharge pipe thaws or the blockage is removed, the water will automatically run along its normal route.

After Installing these four products, Alfred now and will always have a dry and mold-free crawl space. You can have a healthier crawl space as well.
