Royal Wet Crawl Space Repair
Challenge
When building a home, deciding what kind of foundation you want is a big decision. These home builders were building on a crawl space near a lake and wanted to reduce moisture in their home. They called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas. John T., one of our Design Specialists, inspected the crawl space while the home was being built and was able to make some suggestions to keep the home clean, dry, and healthy. They chose our Drainage Matting as a vapor barrier, the SaniDry Sedona to eliminate humidity, and the EverLast Access Door to keep the entry to the crawl space protected from moisture.
Solution
Will and his team began by grading and prepping the crawl space. This included removing debris from construction and larger rocks. They installed the SilverGlo Insulation Panels and SilverGlo Vent Seals to keep outside air from entering the crawl space. This helps save on heating and cooling costs as well as reducing humidity in the crawl space. The team installed the dimpled Drainage Matting as a vapor barrier, creating a thermal break and preventing ground water from entering the crawl space. The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifer was installed and set below 60% to prevent mold and rot. The final step was the EverLast Access Door, custom cut on site for an exact fit and specifically designed to withstand the harsh conditions at the ground level of the home.
The homeowners love their new home, and they love that it is dry, clean, and healthy!
