Challenge

Standing water in this crawl space was causing mold and rot. When the moisture content in the wood under the home reaches 16-19%, mold begins to form. When the moisture content reaches 24%, the wood will begin to rot. In this home, the moisture content of the wood was at 18%, it was time to eliminate the moisture. Our Design Specialist, Michael, gave the homeowners options to make their home cleaner, drier, healthier, and more structurally sound.

Solution

Justin and his team treated the crawl space with Mold-X2 to eliminate mold growth, then installed the Ez Flow Drainage System around the perimeter of the crawl space, below the footers. This system drains ground water directly into the SuperSump Sump Pump, installed in the lowest point of the crawl space, where all water is pumped out and away from the home. They replaced a main beam to provide additional support, then installed the dimpled Drainage Matting and the CleanSpace Liner to isolate the home from the earth. The SaniDry Sedona was set up to keep the humidity in the crawl space below 60%.
