Hot Springs Village Crawl Space Encapsulation
Challenge
These Hot Springs Village homeowners were wanting to encapsulate their crawl space. They wanted to get several quotes, but after visiting with Michael, one of our Design Specialists, they chose CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas. Michael suggested a complete CleanSpace Encapsulation, the TripleSafe Sump Pump to eliminate standing water, and the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to eliminate humidity.
Solution
Zachary and his team began by grading and prepping the crawl space, removing debris and larger rocks to allow for easier installation of our crawl space products. They dug a hole in the lowest part of the crawl space to install the TripleSafe Sump Pump, then dug a trench from there around the outside wall of the crawl space for the Ez Flow Drainage System. Ez Flow collects water from below the footers of the home and drains it into the TripleSafe to be pumped out and away from the home. SilverGlo Insulation Panels were secured to the walls and rim joists of the crawl space, eliminating the need for batted insulation in the floor joists. The vents were sealed with SilverGlo Vent Seals and piers were wrapped with Wallie. Wallie is a 12-mil thick liner designed to prevent condensation from entering through the porous concrete. The metal hinged and lockable door was installed, securing the crawl space for the owners. Our dimpled Drainage Matting came next, providing a thermal break beneath the CleanSpace Liner, secured to the walls and floor of the crawl space, isolating the home from the earth completely and permanently. The pint-sized powerhouse, the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, was set to keep humidity in the crawl space below 60%.
The homeowners love their encapsulated crawl space; and their cleaner, drier, and healthier home!
