Challenge
This large crawl space in Hot Springs Village had a lot of potential, but the owner wanted to make sure it was a dry, usable space. Our Design Specialist, Jack, inspected the crawl space and then sat down with the owner to discuss her options. They decided on a full CleanSpace Encapsulation with the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, SilverGlo Vent Seals, SmartSump, and metal door.
Solution
Will and his team began by digging a hole in the lowest point of the crawl space to install the SmartSump Sump Pump. This sump pump features the WaterWatch Alarm and an airtight floor drain. These features will alert you to water in your crawl space and allow it to drain into the sump pump to be pumped out and away from the home through the LawnScape outlet. LawnScape is the final piece of the discharge drain, blending in seamlessly with the lawn. Inside the crawl space, the installation team graded and prepped the crawl space, removing large rocks and smoothing out the surface of the crawl space to allow ground water to drain towards the SmartSump. The vents were sealed with SilverGlo Vent Seals, and SilverGlo Insulation Panels lined the walls, helping save on heating and cooling costs. The piers were wrapped with Wallie, a 12-mil thick liner designed to keep condensation from entering the crawl space through the porous concrete; then the dimpled Drainage Matting was installed as a thermal break. The CleanSpace Liner isolates the home from the earth, and the metal hinged and lockable door secures the crawl space and makes it safe for storage. The addition of the custom-built deck makes this crawl space the ideal location for storage, and the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier makes the crawl space and the whole home cleaner, drier, and healthier.
