Crawl Space Moisture Control in Little Rock
Challenge
Little Rock homeowners noticed their floors were starting to swell. They began investigating in the crawl space and found standing water and no vapor barrier. They called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas for help. Our Design Specialist, Curtis, inspected the crawl space and helped these homeowners solve their crawl space problems!
Solution
Bryan and his crew began by prepping and grading the crawl space, then digging a hole in the lowest point of the crawl space to install the TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe Sump Pump features a primary 1/3 hp pump, a secondary 1/2 hp pump for heavy rains, and the UltraSump with Battery Back-up for power outages. The UltraSump will turn on only when needed and can pump out 12,000 gallons on a full charge. After installing the TripleSafe, the team dug a trench from the TripleSafe around the walls of the crawl space, below the footer. The trench holds our Ez Flow Drainage System which collects water where it enters and drains it to the TripleSafe. Next, the team began working on the SmartJacks to provide additional support and stop the floors from sagging. SmartJacks are high capacity completely adjustable steel piers that can help raise your floor back up to where it was. The piers were wrapped with Wallie to prevent condensation from entering through the porous concrete and masonry, and the CleanSpace Liner was installed, isolating the home from the earth. With the standing water removed, the SmartJacks in place, and the CleanSpace Liner installed, this home is now cleaner, drier, and more structurally sound.
