Benton Crawl Space Moisture Control
Challenge
A homeowner in Benton was at a loss as to what to do with his crawl space. The crawl space was not vented but was still taking on water. He called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas for help. Our Design Specialist, Michael inspected the crawl space and helped him see the way to a cleaner, drier, healthier crawl space and home!
Solution
Justin and his team began by removing debris and prepping the crawl space area, sloping towards the lowest point of the crawl space, where they installed the SmartSump Sump Pump. They dug a trench around the walls of the crawl space, below the footers, to install the Ez Flow Drainage System. Ez Flow is designed to take on water from the ground before it enters the crawl space and drain it into the SmartSump Sump Pump. The team then wrapped the porous concrete piers with Wallie, a 12-mil thick liner designed to prevent condensation from entering the crawl space, and installed SilverGlo Insulation Panels along the walls of the crawl space. The dimpled Drainage Matting was carefully installed on the dirt floor of the crawl space to ensure any water would stay beneath it and drain towards Ez Flow and the SmartSump.
