El Paso Crawl Space Repair
Challenge
A resident of El Paso recently purchased a home with moisture in the crawl space. We had installed a SuperSump Sump Pump with the previous homeowner, but the new homeowner wanted to see if any other work needed to be done to make her crawl space dry. Our Design Specialist, Michael, went out to inspect the crawl space and visit with the homeowner about what he found.
Solution
Justin and his installation team began by grading and prepping the crawl space. They dug a trench around the walls of the crawl space, just below the footers, leading towards the SuperSump Sump Pump we had already installed in the lowest point of the crawl space. They laid the fabric-wrapped Ez Flow pipe in the trench to take on ground water and carry it into the SuperSump, where it would be pumped out and away from the crawl space. The crawl space area was treated with Mold-X2 to remove mold, and floor joists were added as needed. The custom-made metal hinged and lockable crawl space door was installed, and the vents were sealed with SilverGlo VentSeals. The team wrapped the piers with Wallie to prevent condensation from entering the crawl space, and the CleanSpace Liner was installed to isolate the home from the earth completely and permanently. The addition of the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier made this crawl space drier, and the whole home is cleaner, drier, and healthier!
