Beebe Vapor Barrier Installation
Challenge
Beebe homeowners were concerned about the moisture in their crawl space. They called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas after discovering uneven floors and mold. Our Design Specialist, Michael, met with them and then inspected their crawl space. After discussing the options, they decided to install a vapor barrier with the SuperSump Sump Pump, SilverGlo Insulation, and the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier.
Solution
Justin and his team started by treating the mold with Mold-X2. This will remove mold and deter it from growing back. The team then began prepping and grading the crawl space. They dug a hole in the lowest point of the crawl space to install the SuperSump Sump Pump and installed a discharge line out and away from the home. They then dug a trench around the walls of the crawl space, just below the footer, to install our Ez Flow Drainage System. Ez Flow takes on water as it enters the crawl space through the ground and drains it directly into the SuperSump to be pumped out of the crawl space. After covering Ez Flow, they sealed the vents with SilverGlo Vent Seals and wrapped the piers with Wallie, our 12-mil thick white liner designed for masonry piers. They lined the walls of the crawl space with our graphite-infused SilverGlo Insulation Panels, and insulated the rim joists. This will help save on heating and cooling costs through the year. They installed the metal hinged and lockable door at the entry of the crawl space, then installed the dimpled Drainage Matting on the floor of the crawl space to act as a vapor barrier and thermal break. The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was set up to drain directly into the SuperSump Sump Pump and keep the humidity below 55%.
