Maumelle Crawl Space Encapsulation System
Challenge
A Maumelle homeowner noticed cracks in the walls of her home. After investigating, she discovered the structural supports of her home had been weakened by moisture, even with a vapor barrier installed. She called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas for help.
Solution
Jack inspected the crawl space and suggested the SmartSump Sump Pump with the Ez Flow Drainage System, CleanSpace Encapsulation, and the SaniDry Sedona. The homeowner agreed and our team went to work.
Justin and his team dug a trench to install the Ez Flow Drainage System below the footers around the outer edge of the crawl space. Ez Flow is designed to direct ground water to the sump pump. The team installed the SmartSump Sump Pump in the lowest point of the crawl space, where water is pumped out and away from the home. The vents of the crawl space were sealed with SilverGlo Vent Seals, and the piers were wrapped with Wallie to prevent condensation on the concrete piers. The Drainage Matting was installed on the dirt floor as a thermal break, and the CleanSpace Liner was isntalled above it to isolate the home from the earth. The energy star rated SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was set up, able to remove up to 100 pints of water per day and moving 300 cubic feet of dry air around the crawl space every minute.
