Crawl Space Moisture Control in Brinkley

Challenge

These homeowners called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas with concerns about their entire home sweating. Their large crawl space was holding moisture, and that moisture was causing the home to sweat. Our Design Specialist, Jack, inspected the crawl space and determined they needed a full CleanSpace Encapsulation with SmartSump and SaniDry Sedona.

Solution

Spencer and his team began by digging a hole in the lowest point of the crawl space and installing the SmartSump Sump Pump. They then dug a trench around the walls of the crawl space to install our Ez Flow Drainage System, which drains ground water directly into the SmartSump. The continued prepping and grading the crawl space; removing debris and obstacles in the way of directing water towards Ez Flow and the Smart Sump. Once the SmartSump was installed, they ran a discharge line from the SmartSump to outside the crawl space, where they attached IceGuard, a patented discharge pipe that allows water to escape should the discharge line freeze. Ice Guard prevents water from flowing back into the crawl space. The discharge line continues past IceGuard and is drained through the LawnScape Outlet, camouflaging the drain into the lawn. 

With excess water going into the SmartSump, our team began the encapsulation process. They sealed the vents with SilverGlo Vents Seals, preventing humid outside air from entering the crawl space, and wrapped the masonry piers with Wallie, a 12-mil thick liner designed to keep condensation from forming on the porous concrete. The dimpled Drainage Matting was installed on the graded surface of the crawl space, providing a thermal break and an extra layer of durability below the CleanSpace Liner. The CleanSpace Liner is secured to the walls of the crawl space and the seams are secured with our extra strong CleanSpace Tape; completely isolating the home from the earth. The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier removes humidity from the air at a rate of up to 100 pints of water per day while maintaining it's energy star rating. The EverLast Door, custom cut on site, perfectly seals the crawl space entry and completes the CleanSpace Encapsulation.
