El Dorado Crawl Space Moisture Control

Challenge

This homeowner had a very damp crawl space. He wanted to be able to use the space, so he called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas.

Solution

Our Design Specialist, Jack, suggested a full CleanSpace Encapsulation with SmartSump and SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. Our installation team began by prepping and grading the crawl space, removing larger rocks and debris. They dug a hole in the lowest point of the crawl space and installed the SmartSump Sump Pump with a drainage system run outside the home, through IceGuard to be discharged into the lawn, away from the home. IceGuard is a special piece of pipe that allows water to escape should the drainage line freeze or become blocked. The SmartSump Sump Pump includes the WaterWatch Alarm, which will notify the homeowner should it come in contact with water from a leak. They wrapped the piers with our 12-mil thick Wallie to prevent condensation on the porous concrete and installed the dimpled Drainage Matting on the dirt floor of the crawl space. The dimples will direct any ground water towards the sump pump, and it creates a thermal break while providing a layer of durability. The CleanSpace Liner rests above, with the bright white finish helping the homeowner see the crawl space is free of dirt and moisture. The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to keep the humidity below 60%, and drains directly into the SmartSump.
