Crawl Space Encapsulation in Mabelvale

Challenge

This homeowner in Mabelvale noticed his home was in need of some additional supports. After meeting with the owner, our Design Specialist, John T., inspected the crawl space and discovered it would need to be treated with Mold-X2, floor joists would need to be sistered, and SmartJacks would need to be added along with a complete CleanSpace Encapsulation to provide the homeowner with a more structurally sound home.

Solution

Justin and his team began by removing debris and grading the crawl space. They treated the crawl space with Mold-X2, a chemical treatment that kills mold and allows it to be wiped away, creating a healthier environment. Floor joists were sistered with additional beams, and a metal beam and SmartJacks was installed, helping to keep the home structurally sound. 

The piers were wrapped with Wallie, a 12-mil thick white liner to prevent condensation from forming on the porous concrete blocks, and vents were sealed with our SilverGlo Vent Seals. These vent seals prevent outside air from entering the crawl space, helping lower energy costs. The EverLast Door was custom cut on site to cover the crawl space entry, and the dimpled Drainage Matting and CleanSpace Liner were installed, isolating the home from the earth completely and permanently.
