Vapor Barrier Installation in Pleasant Plains
Challenge
A homeowner in Pleasant Plains noticed moisture in his crawl space and called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas. Curtis inspected the crawl space and visited with the homeowner. This crawl space had standing water that would need to be removed by sump pump. In addition to needing a vapor barrier, the homeowner would also need a way to keep the humidity level below 60%.
Solution
After treating the crawl space with Mold-X2, our installation team, led by James, dug a trench around the perimeter of the crawl space to install the Ez Flow Drainage System, and dug a hole in the lowest part of the crawl space to install the TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe Sump Pump features 3 separate pumps, protecting your home from water even if a pump fails, cannot keep up, or the power goes out. Ground water is carried into the TripleSafe Sump Pump by the Ez Flow Drainage System. Ez Flow rests below the footers of the home taking on ground water and carrying it to the TripleSafe to be pumped out and away from the home.
The ground was graded to help guide water towards Ez Flow, and the piers were wrapped with Wallie, a 12-mil thick liner designed to prevent condensation from entering the crawl space through the porous concrete. The vents were sealed to prevent outside air from entering the crawl space, and the Drainage Matting was installed on the graded surface of the crawl space. The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier keeps the humidity level below 60% while helping cut the cost of heating and cooling the home.
