Challenge

These homeowners in Cotter had taken steps in the right direction, putting down a vapor barrier and installing a dehumidifier. They called with very specific questions regarding moisture in their crawl space. Craigen, one of our Design Specialist, inspected the crawl space and visited with the homeowners to answer their questions and provide them with answers to their crawl space concerns.

Solution

Craigen advised a complete CleanSpace Encapsulation, SilverGlo Insulation Panels and our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. Justin and his crew began by grading and prepping the crawl space floor, evening out the surface for the CleanSpace Liner. The piers were wrapped with Wallie, a 12-mil thick liner designed to keep moisture from entering the crawl space through the porous masonry. The crew sealed the vents with SilverGlo Vent Seals and insulated the space with SilverGlo Insulation Panels. These panels are graphite infused with a reflective backing, increasing the "R" value of the panels 24% and saving on heating and cooling costs by regulating the temperature in the crawl space. The CleanSpace Liner completely isolates the home from the earth, and the bright white helps them see their crawl space is clean and dry. Adding the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier removes up to 100 pints of moisture from the air per day and moves 300 cubic feet of dry air around the crawl space per minute.
