Hot Springs Village Crawl Space Encapsulation
Challenge
A new homeowner in Hot Springs Village was feeling dampness in her floors and was concerned about a possible water leak. She heard our advertisement on the radio and called to schedule a free crawl space inspection with John T. When he arrived, he spoke with the homeowner about her concerns, inspected the crawl space, and presented a solution to put her mind at ease and eliminate her damp floors. She was ready to protect her investment from the damaging effects of water and humidity.
Solution
Bryan and his installation team installed the SmartSump Sump Pump in the lowest point of the crawl space, marked by John during his inspection. The SmartSump is designed for crawl spaces; the WaterWatch alarm installed on the lid will alert you to a water leak or power failure; and the sump pump SuperLiner and Airtight Lid form a tight seal around the Drainage Matting and CleanSpace Liner, keeping out bugs, odors, and foreign objects.
Grading the crawl space and installing our Drainage Matting directs any ground water towards the sump pump. Our Drainage Matting and CleanSpace Liner isolate the home from the earth, reducing humidity in the crawl space and keeping it bright and clean. SilverGlo Vent Seals and an EverLast Door were installed to further reduce humidity. The EverLast Door is a one-half-inch-thick polypropylene plastic door that is waterproof, resistant to mold growth, and helps keep moisture out of the crawl space. SilverGlo Vent Seals are a graphite infused, expanded polystyrene foam insulation block with a foil back that reflects heat back into the crawl space, helping save on heating and cooling costs.
The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to pull moisture from the air and drain directly into the sump pump. It has a capacity of one hundred pints per day, moving over three hundred cubic feet of dry air per minute around your crawl space. It is Energy Star rated, which means savings on electricity over the years.
The dampness is gone, and this homeowner can now relax and enjoy her new home!
