Cabot Vapor Barrier
Challenge
These Cabot homeowners had an inspection done on their home and discovered the vapor barrier needed to be replaced and there was standing water under their home. They were advised of the dangers of standing water and the importance of a high-quality vapor barrier, so they asked us to come out for their free estimate.
Solution
Our Design Specialist, Jack, spoke with the homeowners about their concerns and inspected the crawl space.
With the goal set to eliminate water from the crawl space, Bryan and his team started by grading the crawl space. They installed a sump pump and drainage system and were then ready to start on the Drainage Matting.
Drainage Matting is the foundation of our CleanSpace Encapsulation System. It is made from recycled polyethylene between two layers of virgin HDPE. This makes it watertight, resistant to root penetration, and rot proof. It is non-polluting and non-toxic, making it safe for your family.
Our installation team installed the Drainage Matting on the graded surface of the crawl space. The dimples in the bottom allow for better drainage of ground water. The Drainage Matting also creates a seamless foundation for the CleanSpace Liner.
Drainage Matting adds durability, puncture resistance, and a thermal break to your encapsulation system. Together with the CleanSpace liner, it isolates your home from the earth, and moisture. It is a vital part of the CleanSpace Encapsulation System.
