Clean Space Encapsulation, Paron, AR
Challenge
Daniel G of Paron, AR had a damp, wet, leaking crawl space that could not keep moisture and water out. He had a plastic matting down throughout the crawlspace, but it was not doing enough to keep the moisture out. He called Crawl Space Solutions of Arkansas, where our system design specialist came out to design a solution based on Daniel's needs. Daniel needed a solution that would keep his crawl space dry.
Solution
The best solution for Daniel was to install a variety of products. To keep Daniel's crawl space dry and insulated, Crawl Space Solutions of Arkansas installed a CleanSpace vapor barrier, SilverGlo insulation wall panels, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier.
The drainage matting was installed first on the crawl space floor, and has special dimples on the underside to wick moisture and eventually bring it to the SmartSump sump pump. The sump pump was installed in the crawl space. The CleanSpace vapor barrier was installed over the drainage matting. This process air-sealed the crawl space floor, controlling the moisture coming through. The CleanSpace vapor barrier was the last layer to be added to the crawl space floor, after the drainage matting.
The team then installed the SilverGlo insulation panels. These panels were mechanically fastened to the wall to prevent them from falling down, and installed close together to help prevent air from leaking through the panels. For maximum moisture protection, the team installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, with a discharge line to empty the water from the home without the need to empty the machine.
Now, Daniel enjoys a crawl space he knows will remain dry and insulated, with the ability to control moisture levels.
