Water Barrier in Ft Smith, AR

Challenge

Homeowner Jeff L from Fort Smith, AR called Crawl Space Solutions of Arkansas because he was tired of having standing water in his crawl space, after a rainy day. Jeff's crawl space would easily get 1-2" of water after every rainy day.

Solution

Standing water in the crawl space in and of itself does not necessarily affect the value of a home. What affects the value of a home in relation to standing water in the crawl space is the potential for mold.

Mold can greatly affect the appraisal value of a home. FHA appraisers, for example, are required not only to note if mold is growing in a home but also the type of mold and its location. If you find that the mold growing in the home is black mold, there are a few things you should know: toxic black mold can cause permanent damage to your health and in extreme cases has even led to death.

Jeff's crawlspace did have mold in his crawl space, so what we did for him was first to use our Mold X Neutralizer. The second thing we did was install our SmartSump pump. Part of keeping your crawl space dry involves a sump pump. The state of the art Smart SUmp is designed just for crawl spaces. The liner and lid are designed to form a tight seal around the cleanspace liner. 

The last thing we installed is our CleanSpace liner- This is used to isolate the home from the earth completely and permanently. This dramatically reduces the humidity levels in the air. The clean space liner will eliminate mold growth and rot from the crawl space. 

Jeff no longer has to worry about his crawl space getting flooded ever again.
