Healthier Air for the Whole Home, Springfield, AR
Challenge
Homeowner Mike W was getting his crawl space serviced by Terminix, when they suggested to him to call the experts at Crawl Space Solutions of Arkansas, due to mold and water damage.
Solution
When our System Design Specialist arrived it was discovered that that damage was actually worse then what the homeowner suspected. The homeowner had severe water damage, really nasty mold growing and the foundation was starting to sag. Jack, our System Design Specialist, decided it was necessary to use the following products to solve this issue. (1) SmartSump (2) IceGuard (3) CleanSpace (4) SmartJack.
Our SmartSump is designed specifically for crawl spaces. The liner and lid are designed to form a tight seal around the CleanSpace liner. The SmartSump does have the option for battery backup protection.
The second product that was installed is our IceGuard, which is designed to allow water to escape from a sump pump discharge line if the pipe freezes or becomes blocked for any reason. The production crew would install this by doing the following- immediately after the 1 1/2" discharge line exits the rim joist of the house. A 1 1/2" 90-degree street fitting is installed at the end of the pipe penetration and glued to the IceGuard using PVC glue and cleaning solvent. IceGuard can be used with a 3" or 4" discharge line and buried a minimum of 4" under the soil. The length of the 3" or 4" discharge is determined by the topography of the yard, and should be run to a downhill grade away from the structure.
Our CleanSpace liner is used to isolate the home from the earth completely and permanently. This dramatically reduces the humidity levels in the air!
Adding these few preventative installments will keep this homeowner's crawl space dry and prevent mold from coming back.
