Wet Crawl Space Repair in Cave City
Challenge
A Cave City homeowner was concerned about water in his crawl space. A pond would flood during heavy rain, causing water to enter his crawl space. He called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas and our Design Specialist, Craigen, went out to inspect this damp crawl space. Craigen suggested a full encapsulation with CleanSpace, Vent Seals, SmartSump, and SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier.
Solution
Zachary and his team began by prepping and grading the crawl space, directing water to flow towards the lowest point of the crawl space, where they dug a hole to install the SmartSump Sump Pump. The SmartSump collects all water from the crawl space and pumps it out and away from the home. They sealed the vents with SilverGlo Vent Seals and wrapped the piers with Wallie, a 12-mil thick liner designed to help prevent condensation from entering the crawl space through the porous concrete block piers. The CleanSpace Liner was secured to the walls and floors of the crawl space, isolating the home from the earth and the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was put in place near the SmartSump. The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier can remove up to 100 pints of moisture per day, moving up to 300 cubic feet of dry air around the crawl space per minute.
