Wet Crawl Space in Little Rock
Challenge
The moisture in this Little Rock crawl space had caused the floors above it to be uneven. The homeowners called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas for help. Our Design Specialist, Curtis, inspected the crawl space and then visited with the homeowners about what he found. Curtis suggested a complete encapsulation with CleanSpace with a sump pump and a dehumidifier. The homeowners agreed.
Solution
Daniel and his team of installers started by grading and prepping the crawl space. They dug a trench along the walls of the crawl space for the Ez Flow Drainage System. At the lowest point of the crawl space, they dug a hole to install the SmartSump and UltraSump with battery back-up. The Ez Flow Drainage System is designed to collect water before it enters the crawl space and drain it into the SmartSump Sump Pump. The SmartSump features the WaterWatch Alarm, alerting the homeowner to plumbing leaks, and the UltraSump. The UltraSump rests in the liner of the SmartSump, charging when not in use. If the power goes out and water reaches the UltraSump, it will run on battery power until power is restored.
The piers in the crawl space were wrapped with Wallie to prevent condensation, a 12-mil thick liner designed for masonry. The vents were sealed with SilverGlo Vent Seals, and our dimpled Drainage Matting was laid out on the floor and part of the walls of the crawl space. This thermal break provides cushion and directs groundwater towards Ez Flow and the SmartSump. The CleanSpace Liner rests above the Drainage Matting, isolating the home from the earth and keeping the whole crawl space bright and clean. The team installed the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier and set it to 55%, keeping the humidity levels low.
These homeowners are thrilled with their cleaner, drier, healthier, and more structurally sound home. Call CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas today!
