Vapor Barrier Installation in North Little Rock
Challenge
These North Little Rock residents had recently purchased their home, and after moving in they noticed some concerning things in their crawl space. Water was entering the crawl space through penetrations for the HVAC system. They also noticed some unsealed holes in the crawl space walls. John, one of our Design Specialists, inspected the crawl space and visited with the homeowners about their concerns. After their visit, the homeowners decided they were ready to seal the holes and install a vapor barrier.
Solution
Zachary and his team prepped and graded the crawl space, evening out the dirt floor to prevent puddling and standing water. They dug a trench around the perimeter of the crawl space to install the Ez Flow Drainage System to drain water out of the crawl space. The crew sealed around all entry points into the crawl space. Then they installed SilverGlo Vent Seals and Insulation Panels to block outside air from entering the crawl space and to keep it insulated better than floor joist insulation. They then installed the dimpled Drainage Matting as a vapor barrier and to act as a thermal break between the earth and the crawl space.
The homeowners are very happy with their crawl space and if they decide to encapsulate later on, the foundation work has been done!
