Wet Crawl Space in Marshall

Challenge

Residents of Marshall knew they had moisture in their crawl space and wanted help to dry it out. Our Design Specialist drove out to inspect the crawl space and visit with the homeowners. They decided on a full CleanSpace Encapsulation, complete with our SmartSump Sump Pump Drainage System, and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier.

Solution

On installation day, the crew started by removing debris and installing the SmartSump in the lowest part of the crawl space. From there, they dug a trench below the footer around the perimeter of the crawl space to drain the water directly into the SmartSump. The crawl space was graded, and Drainage Matting was installed to allow ground water to flow towards the perimeter of the space and into SmartSump Drainage System.  The CleanSpace liner was installed above the Drainage Matting, isolating the home from the earth, and the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier removes moisture from the air at a rate of up to 100 pints per day. That moisture is drained directly into the SmartSump, which pumps all the water out of the crawl space and away from the home. A metal hinged and lockable crawl space door adds insulation and longevity to the crawl space entrance.
