Crawl Space Sealing in Sheridan

Challenge

This crawl space in Sheridan was wet, moldy, and starting to rot. The homeowners called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas for help, so John T. headed south. After visiting with the homeowners and inspecting the crawl space, he presented them with a solution to eliminate the mold, moisture, and rot.

Solution

Jason and his team went to work to install the CleanSpace Encapsulation System. They began by treating the crawl space with our Mold-X2 Cleaner. This powerful cleaner will kill mold, allowing it to be easily wiped away. Floor joists were "sistered" to provide additional support to the weakened support structures of the home. The crew measured the entry to the crawl space and custom cut the EverLast Door on site to perfectly cover the entry. Vents were sealed with our SilverGlo Vent Seals, preventing outside air from entering the crawl space and adding insulation to help save on heating and cooling costs. The masonry piers were wrapped with Wallie, a 12-mil thick liner to prevent moisture from entering the crawl space through the porous concrete, and our dimpled Drainage Matting was installed to allow ground water to flow beneath it to the edge of the crawl space. The CleanSpace Liner rests on the Drainage Matting, secured in place to prevent pulling and bunching, isolating the home from the earth permanently and completely. Finally, the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to remove moisture from the air. The SaniDry Sedona is energy star rated and can remove up to 100 pints of moisture each day, enough to dry out the support structures of the home.
