Pine Bluff Crawl Space Moisture Solutions
Challenge
This homeowner was struggling with the moisture under his home. This home sits downhill from the road, and he was dealing with a lot of humidity and standing water from rain and ground water run-off. He had a vapor barrier installed but wasn't happy with the results. He called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas to get more information on encapsulating his crawl space.
Solution
Homes that sit downhill from the road face unique challenges from the environment around them. Justin and his crew started by digging a trench across the front of the home and installing our Trench Drain. This would catch water run-off and stop it from draining into the crawl space. The Trench Drain carries the water away from the home where it can drain safely without entering the home.
Inside, the crew prepped and graded the crawl space to direct water flow to the back of the home, where they dug a trench below the footers to install our Ez Flow Drainage system. This drainage system drains water directly into the SmartSump Sump Pumps, which they installed in the lowest points of the crawl space at the back corners of the home. Drain lines were run to outside and extended to carry water out and away from the home. SilverGlo Insulation Panels were installed to insulate the space, and 3 EverLast Doors were custom cut on-site to seal the entry points of the crawl space. Drainage Matting was laid as a thermal break and to allow water to flow beneath to the Ez Flow Drainage System, and the 20-mil thick CleanSpace Liner isolated the home from the earth. Adding the SaniDry XP to remove moisture from the air in this large space completed this encapsulation.
The homeowner was thrilled with the end result. His home is now cleaner, drier, and more structurally sound. Call CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas today, 501.329.4000!
