New Crawl Space Encapsulation

Residents of Mountain View reached out with inquiring minds about their crawl space. They had just built a home with a crawl space on the side of a mountain and did not want to have any moisture or mold issues with it. One of our Design Specialists, Craigen, drove up to complete an inspection and he was able to provide them with a proactive solution.

Solution

As a brand-new build, there was no damage from mold or rot, but dirt or rock floor crawl spaces will always produce moisture. It was important to make sure the home was isolated from the earth, and that no outside air was entering the space. 

Our installation crews graded and prepped the crawl space, then wrapped the piers with Wallie to prevent condensation. Wallie is a 12-mil thick liner designed for masonry piers and works with the CleanSpace Liner to reduce humidity. The vents were sealed and the CleanSpace Liner was installed, isolating the home from the earth and eliminating outside unconditioned air from entering the crawl space. A SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier completes this encapsulation, making the crawl space usable, and preventing mold growth and rot.
