Smart Jack in Camden, AR
Challenge
Clara P of Camden, AR had a failing support beam in her crawlspace. The supports holding the beam could not support the weight of the home and buckle under the pressure. The floor above the basement bowed more than a couple inches, which was noticeable to Clara.
He called Crawl Space Solution, where Systems Design Specialist Jack Gandy came out to address his issues and design a solution based on Clara's needs. Clara needed a solution that would prevent the crawlspace above his floor from bowing any further and raise the floor back to its horizontal position.
Solution
The best solution for Clara was to install SmartJack support posts in his crawl space, along with a new support beam.
When the foreman came out to install the products. The process began with the installation of the support beams. These beams were installed in locations that would optimize the support of the home. Following the beam installations, the team installed the support posts. The areas of the floor where the posts were going to be installed were jack-hammered and cleared, where the posts were installed and embedded in the earth, ensuring the posts would not sink. Then, the area was filled back in with concrete, solidifying the post's place on the floor. The posts were then adjusted to place pressure on the beams. Once all the beams were in place, the team adjusted the posts to push the beam to return the sagging floor to a horizontal position.
The project took four days to complete, and now, Clara has a home without a sagging floor and needs to worry no longer about his home's support system.
