Drainage Matting

A question we often get when visiting with homeowners is “What is Drainage Matting?” We want to answer to this question and explain why it is so important as part of a CleanSpace Encapsulation System.

Drainage Matting is a brown, high density polyethylene, dimpled matting that rests directly on the graded surface of the crawl space, beneath the CleanSpace Liner. This tough liner resists water and water vapor penetration into the crawl space. The dimples create a drainage space under CleanSpace, allowing water to drain towards the SmartSump Sump Pump. It keeps water away from your CleanSpace Liner, another layer of protection for your crawl space. When installed as part of the CleanSpace Encapsulation System, it adds a layer of durability, puncture resistance, and a thermal break to your crawl space.
